NEW 2009 COLLEZIONE CATALOGUE

Contemporarily to the opening of the new London showroom, Cappellini publishes its new Collection mini-catalogue. A big poster that not only picks up the classics, but also the latest news introduced during last Milan Furniture Fair at the Milano Design Village: all the images on front side, all the codes and the items available on pricelist on the back. All in a glimpse.

THE MAGIC OF COLOUR, THE MAGIC OF THE MATERIAL. MILANO DESIGN VILLAGE
THE MAGIC OF COLOUR, THE MAGIC OF THE MATERIAL. MILANO DESIGN VILLAGE

Once again Cappellini’s world confirms its innate mastery of language, the attention and the inquisitiveness with which it draws on different and far-off cultures, combining them in perfect harmony in a single, ambitious project. The masters that break the mould and rise above all fashion trends, Kuramata, Mendini, Fronzoni; the biggest names on the contemporary scene, Morrison, Nendo, Norguet; the new and intriguing discoveries, Dror: all brought together in magical green islands to transmit the Cappellini 2009 concept and its news at the Milano Design Village. Islands of the mind and spirit, in the primary colours of the Homage to Mondrian and Fronzoni Color containers, and the acidic yet warm colours of the Luxor series. Islands where everything comes together in harmony: the attention to detail and technologies, evident or hidden, the artisan expertise that goes into the workmanship. Cappellini and its industrial products, such as the new Peacock and Antler seats, have that touch of sartorial elegance that has long made them unique. Today, like never before, Cappellini envisages a lively home, made to measure for each one of us, where we can mix and match and where there is no need to hide contradictions, without forgetting, of course, a healthy pinch of irony.

CAPPELLINI'S DREAM, IT CONTINUES

The headquarters of Mariano Comense has now a new showroom, a great stage for Cappellini’s production. Going down the spiral staircase that brings from the light of the superior floor to the darkness that welcome the visitor in the inferior one, as opening a box full of surprises, here are to appear one by one the icons of Collezione, the Sistemi, the great classical items of Mondo and Progetto Oggetto, never been so bright as they are now, so absorbed in the darkness that surround them. A great atmosphere, a space with the perfect cut to make people appreciate the creations of the most famous designers in the world. Its true, dream continues.

PROUST GEOMETRICA - Alessandro Mendini 2009

Created in 1978 for the Palazzo dei Diamanti in Ferrara, Proust was immediately recognized as an icon of twentieth century design and one of the most renowned and essential reference points in the quest for form and aesthetic perfection. Cappellini inherited the piece in 1993 and today Proust Geometrica, reupholstered in a new cotton fabric by Alessandro Mendini and hand-finished according to tradition, preserves the forms of the original armchair while refreshing them and breathing new life into the image and value of the original design.
